Location
Our vineyard is located in the village of Westfield, six
miles north of the historic town of Hastings, of 1066 fame.
The
south coast of England has some of the best conditions for wine growing in the
UK. The sunnier and drier climate is coupled with an ideal subsoil that
stores the heat of the sun and reflects warmth into the vine roots. The
sandstone-based soil allows excellent drainage while preserving soil humidity.
Indeed, the soil supplies the mineral elements needed to give Carr Taylor wines
the award-winning quality and flavour for which they are known.
