Fruit Wines
These versatile wines are sweet and rich with intense fruit flavours and can
be drunk as wines, aperitifs, or after-dinner drinks. They are great as mixers
such as sparkling wine and lemonade, drunk with cheeses or poured over desserts.
Also adds a wonderful flavour to sauces and gravies.

MEAD

Sweet - 11.5% vol - 50cl
|
This sweet wine made from honey has been popular in England since Medieval
times. We follow the age old tradition of fermenting grape and apple juices
with honey, using modern fermentation techniques to produce this
invigorating beverage. Said to be an Aphrodisiac. A good hot-toddy when
mixed with whisky or makes a mouth-watering dessert when added to thick
natural yoghurt. A honeymoon or wedding wine.

Delicious served with cheese such as deep-fried Somerset Brie, or can be
poured over strawberries or fresh fruit salad. Marvellous added to brandy.

BLACKCURRANT WINE

Sweet - 11.5% vol - 50cl
|
Add a dessertspoon to a glass of white wine to make a Kir. Instead of
sherry, use blackcurrant wine in a trifle and add to summer pudding. A dash
will enhance a beef casserole and ensure a delicious gravy with beef. To
keep fresh raspberries for more than a day, mull them in red or blackcurrant
wine. Fantastic with Stilton.

Delicious poured over ice cream or fruit salad. Equal measures of strawberry
wine and rum make a gorgeous cocktail.

GINGER WINE

Sweet - 11.5% vol - 50cl

Warming and stomach settling. Why not mix with whisky to make a Whisky Mac,
or Brandy to make a Horse's Neck? Good with pears and rhubarb or poured over
ice cream. Very much used in stir fries to give that oriental flavour.
